My name is Pam Lockrem Sponsor, Director of Wham Hair Studio Barber Cosmetology Apprenticeship Program.  Apprenticeship for Barbering and Cosmetology is not well known for our industry, but that is about to change.  I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 33 years and owned Wham Hair Studio for approximately 25 years in the Midtown area and have been an educator for 16 years.  I understand the difficulties inherent in finding reliable and consistent Stylists and Barbers.  Our program is an Alternative to traditional Barber or Cosmetology School, meaning each person enrolled works in the Salon or Barber Shop to accrue required hours and operations by the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, each Apprentice will receive their Apprentice Barber or Cosmetology to display.  This is a two-year program, due to the licensing which as you know, expires every two years.  Once an apprentice has completed all requirements they are eligible to take the ST. Bd.
